What is Alkimi KYC Verification?
Alkimi KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is the mandatory identity verification process required for all $ADS token holders to access Alkimi Labs. This comprehensive guide explains the new KYC system, requirements, and step-by-step verification process.
Why Alkimi Upgraded Its KYC System
Alkimi has transitioned to a new KYC provider to better support our growing community as we approach our layer 1 selection. The previous manual verification system created bottlenecks as the $ADS holder community expanded globally.
Who Needs Alkimi KYC Verification?
All $ADS token holders must complete the new KYC verification process, including:
- Previous KYC-verified users (re-verification required)
- New Alkimi community members
- Users wanting to access Alkimi Labs features
- Validators and liquidity providers
Alkimi KYC Requirements and Documents
Required Documents for KYC Verification:
- Government-issued photo ID (passport, driving licence, national ID)
- Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, government correspondence)
- Selfie verification (liveness check)
KYC Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be 18+ years old
- Valid government-issued identification
- Residential address verification
- Not from restricted jurisdictions
Step-by-Step guide for KYC Verification:
- Register your account on Alkimi Labs, once you are successfully logged into the new account, click on the USER button. Note: Existing registered users do not need to complete registration again.
2. Go to the Personal Information tab under User.
3. Click the Verify button.
4. A pop-up will appear with the Onfido verification flow. Click on Start verification to begin the process. Ensure you have a valid ID document handy. This process can be completed only for holders above 18 years of Age.
Choose your Issuing country and one of the accepted documents and then upload. Note: Confirm the list of acceptable countries before verifying. Only countries listed in the drop down are eligible for verification.
5. Record a video — This step is to verify that you’re not a bot.
- Position your face in the frame as prompted
- Slowly turn your head to each side.
- Your face and background will be recorded during the process
6. KYC Submission Received: Once completed, you’ll see a confirmation message stating your KYC has been submitted.
- Expect an email sent to your registered email address with feedback on whether your verification was successful or not.
- The verification can fail in one of the following instances
- If the selected document type does not match the uploaded document.
- If you have submitted an invalid document
- If your document photo is blurry
- If your document has expired
- If your document has been flagged or blacklisted
